Ordering Process
Having agreed on the style, colour and size of a dress(es) between yourself and Courtesan Boutique, an order form will be completed detailing this information and your contact details. You will be given a copy of this. Either the full amount, or a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value will be taken. The total amount will be required 6 weeks before delivery. We then process your deposit and place your order with our supplier. Also see ‘Delivery Timescales’.
When your dress(es) arrive, we check that the Bust, Waist and Hip measurements of the dress correspondence with the UK standard size chart that was shown to you at the time of placing the order. If the dresses were Closer Fit, we check that every single measurement that was taken at the time of placing the order corresponds with the measurements of the dress. We also confirm that the colour is correct – please also see ‘Colours’ below.
We will then inform you by e-mail or phone that your dress(es) are ready for collection or courier. Cancelling Your Order If you wish to cancel your order, please do so by e-mail or phone within 24 hours of placing your order. Should you need to cancel after the initial 24-hour period, unfortunately your deposit will not be returned.
Returns
Our dresses cannot be returned as they are made to order. It is the customers’ responsibility to decide on the size, colour, fabric, design and length of a dress. Please also see ‘Sizes’ and ‘Dresses Not Fitting’.
Sizes
Standard sizes:
If you purchase a dress in a standard size and length, then alterations may be required. Courtesan Boutique do not offer an in-house alterations service. If you're unsure of your size, we can take three basic measurements; bust, waist and hips. We will then provide you with this information and the size charts, for you to decide which size you would like. We can’t guarantee that the dress will fit perfectly in every area, as we only take your bust, waist and hip measurement as a guide. Furthermore, your bust, waist and hip size, may not be ‘standard’ – which you can determine from the chart. The length will also be standard.
Courtesan Boutique do not make any recommendation on which size to purchase. For example, if your bust measures between a 12 and 14, your waist measures a 14 and your hips a 14, you may decide to purchase a size 14. However, we will not be held responsible if the dress doesn't fit - this is your decision. Please also see 'Closer Fit' and ‘Dresses Not Fitting’.
Closer Fit
If you're not a standard size, or want to change the length of a dress, there is a charge of £50.00 per dress to have it Closer Fit (£20 per dress if the measurements are taken yourself and sent via e-mail or via our website). We take detailed measurements of your body, fully clothed and in private. When your dress arrives, we check that the measurements taken at the time of placing the order correspond with the measurements of the dress. If you have lost or gained weight, grown in height, etc, we cannot be responsible for a dress not fitting. Please also see ‘Dresses Not Fitting’.
All measurements must be taken with underwear and shoes that you will be wearing on the day. Please note; LouLou and Angel Bride dresses can't be Closer Fit.
Colours
Due to using different rolls of fabric, all colours are subject to slight variation.
Delays
Occasionally/rarely, the manufacture of your item may be delayed. This can be for various reasons such as material shortages, import delays or higher than anticipated demand. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.
Delivery Time Scales
Courtesan Boutique dresses
Average delivery time is 6 weeks from the first working day after placing your order if paying by cash, or if paying by cheque, after the cheque has cleared. Maximum delivery time is 8 weeks.
Dresses made by LouLou Bridal
12/14 weeks: no charge. 8-11 weeks: £40. 5-7 weeks: £57. 4 weeks and under, £92. If LouLou are extremely busy, 'rush' services may not be available - this will be confirmed within 48 hours.
Dresses made by Angel Bridal
12/14 weeks: no charge. 10-11 weeks: £29. 7-9 weeks: £40. 6 weeks: £57. If Angel Bride are extremely busy, 'rush' services may not be available - this will be confirmed within 48 hours.
Dresses Not fitting
Standard sizes: If you ordered a dress in a standard size and it doesn’t fit, you will need to see an alterations specialist. Courtesan Boutique do not offer an alterations service. Please remember, at the time of ordering we only take the bust, waist and hip measurement of your body as a guide (you may not be a ‘standard’ size). When signing these terms and conditions, you are taking all responsibility for the size that you ordered. When dresses arrive, we measure them to ensure the bust, waist and hip measurement corresponds with the size chart shown to you at the time of ordering.
Closer Fit: In the very unlikely event that a made-to-measure dress doesn’t fit, we will need to ensure that the body measurements that we took at the time of ordering are different to the measurements of the dress.
Please either take your body measurements (please see www.courtesan-boutique.co.uk/customise.html) for guidance, or make an appointment with us after 5:30 during the week to be re-measured.
Once we have these measurements, we can determine if there are discrepancies. If the current body measurements are different from the measurements that were taken at the time of ordering, then we cannot accept any responsibility for a dress not fitting. People do loose weight and gain weight, grow taller, change bra size, or decide not to wear a bra and visa versa, or change shoe height – but we can only have a dress made to the measurements that were taken on the order date. If the current body measurements are exactly the same as they were at the time of placing the order, Courtesan Boutique accept responsibility and will take all measures to rectify the situation.
Before sending dresses we measure them to ensure they correspond with your body measurements that we took at the time of ordering.
If you have taken the measurements yourself, we will also confirm that the measurements you gave us correspond with the measurements of the dress.
Postage
Collection of dresses in either Worthing or Bognor Regis is obviously free of charge. There is a charge of £5.95 per address - to send dress(es) via courier or Special Delivery to England.
Discounts
Many of our dresses are 50% cheaper than other companies, which is why we do not offer any discount for ordering more than 1 dress.
