Returns & Refunds
Returns General:
1. The customer is responsible for return postage costs.
2. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling Regulations) the customer has 7 working days after receipt of their order to cancel and receive a full refund. Orders may not be cancelled after this period except for under your legal rights. There's no exception to this and any dresses cancelled after 7 working days, and returned, will be sent back to you and you will be invoiced for postage costs.
3. Sale items are returnable (UK only).
4. Returns are not accepted outside of the UK.
5. Items must be returned in same condition you receive them, and MUST be returned via a trackable, appropriately insured service.
6. UK Outbound shipping costs up to a maximum of (£5.95) will be refunded and we don't charge a re-stocking fee. IMPORTANT: Any additional postage costs for areas outside of England, or any additional costs for special delivery, taxes, etc, will not be refunded. Rush charges are not refunded as we will have already paid them to our supplier. No postage is refunded on sale items.
Not all colours and sizes are returnable
Returns - Colours:
There are a selection of dress colours and sizes that if ordered are not returnable. If you select a dress colour that is non returnable, for example 'Orange' and you select a sash colour that is returnable for example 'Black' this dress would be non returnable. It's based on the colour of the dress.
Returns - Sizes:
Sizes 0-4 or 20+ are not returnable.
Returns - Closer Fit:
Closer Fit dresses are not returnable.
Returns - Dresses altered in design:
Dresses that are altered in design in any way cannot be returned. We accept no responsibility if you change a dress in any way from the original design and are not happy with either the new design, how the dress looks, or fits. Remember, we are often working from a picture.
Bespoke dresses:
Dresses that are bespoke made, i.e. made from a picture, dresses that are not on our website, are not returnable. We do our best to interpret the design, but please remember we are working from a picture and the dress may not be exactly the same as the picture, or what you had imagined. This is something that you need to take into account when ordering a bespoke dress.
We accept no responsibility if you change a dress in any way from the original design and are not happy with either the new design, how the dress looks, or fits.
Accessories:
Sashes & ties made to your specific dimensions (outside of the dimension we offer on this web site) cannot be returned. Jewellery or hair accessories that have been customised with your initials for example are also non-returnable.
Other:
The hems on chiffon and organza dresses are almost impossible to get 100% straight as the fabric is flexible.
If you receive a dress with a fault, please allow us time to rectify and return the item to you.
We define a corset as a lace-up back, not a full built-in corset.
Postage
Our standard delivery charge is just £5.95 per package.! This is a 3-5 days delivery service for UK mainland customers, providing the item is in stock.
Collection in person from Worthing, West Sussex is free, please e-mail or call (01903 531145) to arrange.
INTERNATIONAL TAXES: Please note; you will be responsible to pay for any taxes or custom duties when your item arrives from outside of the UK.

Sizes
Ordering a dress in a standard size:
Ordering a dress in a standard size means your dress will be made to the measurements shown on our size chart, not your body measurements, if you're a size 18 in a high street shop, it doesn't mean you're a size 18 dress - you must measure yourself please. Our dresses have no 'give' in them. If you are between sizes, the WILL NOT fit!!!!!.
Closer Fit:
Closer Fit means we will make the bust, waist, hip and length of a dress to the nearest size in accordance with our size chart, i.e. Bust: size 10, Waist: size 12, Hips: size 14, Length: 150 cms.
It doesn't mean that we will be making your dress to your exact measurements.
Your dress may still need some alterations/adjustments once you receive it which is something that you need to take into consideration please. If you are more than a size between your bust, waist and hip measurement, you will almost certainly need alterations.
Fitting General:
Please bear in mind that the dress you tried on in our boutique or via Try Before You Buy may not be your size and therefore your dress may look different. The width of the ‘skirt’ will be proportionate to your hip measurement, not to the smaller or larger size dress that you may have tried on.
Zips: the zips on our dresses are typically YKK and sewn in securely. If you decide to have your dress made tight, or you gain weight from the time you were measured, the zip can pull apart. Please note: once finished, your dress will have been measured by at least three professionals before it’s dispatched.
Closer Fit Dresses Not Fitting/Problems
KEY NOTE : on receiving your dress(es) you have any concerns regarding any aspect of your dress, you must come to our boutique in Worthing to discuss this further. Please consider the time this could potentially involve. If on receiving you dress(es) you feel that it has not been made to the measurements requested (allowing for a 2 cm margin either way) your only option is to come here and visit us. If you cannot do this, then we must make it 100% clear that there is nothing we can do. We would never send a dress out that we thought was incorrect. Our dresses are always measured by at least two people.
Why could my dress need further alterations?
Other measurements such as upper bust, under bust, apex to apex, shoulders, cup size and shoulder to waist , are not taken. Dresses made to cover every single body measurement require several fittings and potential alterations which we can’t offer for the prices we charge.
Measurement taken outside of our boutique:
You will be fully responsible for any alterations that may be required if measurements are taken by yourself or any other independent party.
Closer Fit Dress Not Fitting - Purchased From Our Boutique:
In the unlikely event that your dress does not fit, you would need to come to our boutique to be re-measured. If there are no changes to the measurements taken at the time of ordering and/or the shoes and bra worn also at the time of ordering, we will alter the dress and then send them via courier to you. We will take time to show you the measurements, everything is up front and clear as always. If on coming to our boutique to be measured we find that you have lost or gained weight or grown in height, unfortunately, we will not undertake any alterations whatsoever. If you chose not to come for a fitting, we will not be responsible for any alterations that may be required. There is no exception to this and the time and cost involved in returning to our boutique must be considered before making a purchase. KEY NOTE: The person who’s dress is in question, must also visit us. We need to see the dress AND the person that the dress is for. Measurement taken outside of our boutique:

In the unlikely event that you have concerns or problems with your dress please call or email (enquiries@cboutique.com, 01903 531145). You will need to return the dress to us, or come into our Boutique in Worthing. If any adjustments/work is undertaken by a seamstress/yourself we will not reimburse you for this. Any work undertaken on a dress will be done by our own seamstress.
Hire Terms and Conditions
Only stock dresses can also be hired.
Dresses for hire are available in standard US or UK sizes & colours. Dresses must not be altered or changed in any way.
Dresses are hired at 50% of the FULL purchase price. The full purchased price is taken before hire, 50% of which is a deposit.
Goods are hired to the customer on the understanding that they shall be returned undamaged and in the same condition that they were received in on the agreed date – which is usually 1 week after use.
Any outfit returned heavily soiled may be charged an additional cleaning fee of up to £20 per item and in extreme cases, will be asked to cover the cost to replace the items.
The hirer will be held responsible and liable for any loss or damage to any of the outfits hired under their name for the duration of the hire. Un-repairable, missing or damage to any of the outfits or accessories hired in the customers name will result in the customer being charged the full cost to replace or repair any damaged or missing item/s.
We take great care to ensure that outfits are packed correctly however customers should double check the contents of their outfit/s upon delivery. Any missing or damaged items must be reported back to us on the day of delivery. Failing to report any missing or damaged items could result in the customer being charged the full cost to replace or repair the item/s.
Bespoke/Custom Made Dresses from Drawings/Pictures
We accept no responsibility if you change a dress in any way from the original design and are not happy with either the new design, how the dress looks, or fits. If we are working from a customer’s own pictures and inspiration, we do not claim to be able to make the dress exactly as in the picture. We Do not accept any responsibility for a dress that may not be made as a “customer had imagined”. You may have to seek further alterations in order to get the dress looking just how you want it, this is not a service that Courtesan offer.

Delivery Time Courtesan Boutique dresses (our label):
The majority of dresses take 7 weeks to make, Lou Lou and Angel Bride dresses can take 12-14 weeks.
Please allow an additional week for delivery (from supplier to customer as most of Courtesan Boutique dresses are made in the USA).
Please allow an extra week for delivery.
Dresses made by Lou Lou Bridal: 12/14 weeks: no charge. 8-11 weeks: £40. 5-7 weeks: £57. 4 weeks and under: £92. Dresses made by Angel Bridal: 12/14 weeks: no charge. 10-11 weeks: £29. 7-9 weeks: £40. 6 weeks: £57.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR DELIVERY ADDRESS IS CORRECT. We don't always have time to notify you as to when your dress will be dispatched.
Colours
If you're unsure of the colour, please order a swatch first. Colours often look different in the flesh. If you order a dress in a non returnable colour and don't like it, then we will not accept a return. Please allow a colour difference from swatch to dress, as different rolls of fabric are used. If you order 1 dress, then a day, week, month later order another dress to match - we can't guarantee that it will be the same colour.
Colours (including lining and cotton)
Due to using different rolls of fabric, all colours are subject to slight variation. If you split any part of your order, we cannot guarantee that the colours will match. The colour of the lining fabric and cotton is chosen by us and won’t necessarily match the colour the dress. Net and tulle is dyed and the colour is unpredictable – the colour will be as close as we can get it, but won’t be the same colour as the dress.
Delays
Occasionally/rarely, the manufacture of your item may be delayed. This can be for various reasons such as material shortages, import delays or higher than anticipated demand. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.
Discounts
Many of our dresses are 50% cheaper than other companies, which is why we do not offer any discount for ordering more than 1 dress.
